Your new role


As Environmental Compliance Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to genuinely shape the compliance landscape of a large group with complex supply chain networks. You’ll work closely with an internal auditor, departmental heads, and a wide range of suppliers and stakeholders.

This is a new position, created due to increasing environmental reporting requirements, sustainability expectations, and ongoing business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enhancing company wide environmental policies and procedures
  • Supporting internal audits and working closely with the in house auditor
  • Managing expanding reporting obligations: energy, GHG, carbon reduction plans, and supplier data
  • Coordinating compliance with: Tax, accreditations and regulations
  • Completing supplier code of conduct enquiries
  • Supporting tender responses
  • Working with sustainability partners such as the Woodland Trust (including carbon capture initiatives and planting days)
  • Potential future line management as the team grows


What you'll need to succeed


  • Proven experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing or similar materials based environment
  • Knowledge of FSC/PEFC, timber regulations, EPR or similar frameworks
  • Strong understanding of sustainability reporting, GHG, or energy compliance
  • The ability to grow with the business, bringing both expertise and ambition
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across departments
  • Backgrounds within paper, packaging, manufacturing, or distribution (Preferred)
