A major player in the UK’s energy and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join a high-profile nuclear power development project. Your new role


As Environmental Advisor, you will be embedded within a large-scale nuclear construction project, supporting environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. You’ll work closely with contractors, regulators, and internal teams to ensure environmental standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties include:

  • Providing expert guidance on UK environmental legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001.
  • Liaising with regulators such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, and local authorities
  • Advising on Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 compliance
  • Managing environmental aspects of soil and materials (CL:AIRE protocol) and EPR permit compliance
  • Engaging with subcontractors to ensure environmental standards are met on site


What you'll need to succeed


  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or other related discipline
  • Experience working in a dynamic, site-based construction environment
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
  • Experience with EMS development and implementation
  • Experience in soil/materials management and EPR permit compliance (ideal)
