Interim Energy Assessor - Social Housing - Immediate start

Interim Energy Assessor – Social Housing (Nottinghamshire Local Authority).

Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday Hybrid working – 1 day per week in the office (Notts hub), remainder site-based.

A forward-thinking Nottinghamshire local authority is seeking an Interim Energy Assessor to join its dynamic Assets Team, supporting the delivery of energy assessments across its social housing stock. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified energy assessor who is passionate about improving energy efficiency in homes and making a tangible impact on residents' lives. The role is initially offered on an interim basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Your new role

Conduct EPCs and energy assessments across a wide range of social housing properties throughout the county
Carry out on-site inspections to assess energy performance, fabric condition, and retrofit potential
Input data into relevant systems and produce accurate reports to inform investment planning
Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate access and ensure smooth delivery
Support the council’s decarbonisation and retrofit programmes by providing technical insight and data
Attend a weekly hub day at the council’s Nottinghamshire-based office for team collaboration and planning

What you'll need to succeed

Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) with up-to-date accreditation
Experience working on social housing stock is highly desirable
Strong understanding of RdSAP methodology and EPC software
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Comfortable working independently across a large geographical area
Someone working towards or interested in becoming a Retrofit Coordinator (PAS 2035) would be a strong fit
