Interim Energy Assessor – Social Housing (Nottinghamshire Local Authority).

Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday Hybrid working – 1 day per week in the office (Notts hub), remainder site-based.

A forward-thinking Nottinghamshire local authority is seeking an Interim Energy Assessor to join its dynamic Assets Team, supporting the delivery of energy assessments across its social housing stock. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified energy assessor who is passionate about improving energy efficiency in homes and making a tangible impact on residents' lives. The role is initially offered on an interim basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Your new role

  • Conduct EPCs and energy assessments across a wide range of social housing properties throughout the county
  • Carry out on-site inspections to assess energy performance, fabric condition, and retrofit potential
  • Input data into relevant systems and produce accurate reports to inform investment planning
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate access and ensure smooth delivery
  • Support the council’s decarbonisation and retrofit programmes by providing technical insight and data
  • Attend a weekly hub day at the council’s Nottinghamshire-based office for team collaboration and planning

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) with up-to-date accreditation
  • Experience working on social housing stock is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of RdSAP methodology and EPC software
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working independently across a large geographical area
  • Someone working towards or interested in becoming a Retrofit Coordinator (PAS 2035) would be a strong fit
