Energy Assessor (Graduate or Experienced) – Nottinghamshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering innovative building services solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. With a commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, this company is expanding its team to meet growing demand for compliance and performance services.

Your new role

As an Energy Assessor, you will play a key role in evaluating building energy performance and ensuring compliance with UK regulations. Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting energy assessments for new and existing buildings (Part L, EPC, SBEM, SAP).
  • Preparing compliance documentation and energy performance certificates.
  • Advising design teams and clients on energy efficiency strategies.
  • Using industry-standard software (IES VE, DesignBuilder, Elmhurst) for building performance modeling.
  • Staying up to date with building regulations and sustainability best practices.
This role is open to both experienced professionals and graduates with a relevant degree who are eager to develop their career in energy assessment.

What you'll need to succeed

Degree in Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experienced candidates should have proven knowledge of energy assessment and compliance processes.
  • Graduates with relevant academic background and willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Familiarity with SBEM/SAP calculations and energy modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and energy efficiency standards.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
    • Accreditation as a Non-Domestic or Domestic Energy Assessor (or willingness to achieve accreditation).
    • Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED, or other sustainability frameworks.
