Your new company

We are working with a fast-growing, trusted and leading independent accountancy and business advisory firm with offices across the North of England and Scotland, to appoint an experienced Employment Tax Manager based in either Manchester or Leeds. Their mission is to help clients achieve prosperity, a secure future, and peace of mind — and that starts with its people. With around 800 colleagues across 19 offices, this firm prides itself on a culture built around our core values: honesty, humanity, trust, and passion.

Your new role

As an Employment Tax Manager, you’ll join our growing tax team and deliver complex, high-quality employment tax advice to a wide range of clients and internal colleagues. This is a client-facing role with plenty of variety and responsibility.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing advisory services across all areas of employment tax, including HMRC enquiries, employment status/IR35, National Minimum Wage, and CIS
  • Supporting wider tax projects such as due diligence, CCO, and SAO reviews
  • Managing scope and budgets for projects and briefing team members effectively
  • Delivering technical updates and training to clients and internal teams
  • Contributing to business development through networking, proposals, and client relationship management
  • Delegating work to junior colleagues and supporting their development

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong technical experience in employment tax, ideally at Manager level or ready to step up
  • Previous experience working in practice
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving

What you'll get in return

The firm offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Salary Sacrifice Employer Contribution Pension Scheme (with life cover and income protection)
  • Up to 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 extra days
  • Smart Working Policy for flexible home and office working
  • Health Shield Cash Plan and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to online training courses and career development support
