A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a talented Employment Associate to join its well‑established London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with solid technical grounding and broad employment experience to take on high‑quality work within a supportive, collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.
You’ll work across the full spectrum of employment matters – contentious, advisory, transactional and investigative – while benefiting from direct client exposure, strong mentoring, and clear opportunities for progression.
Your new role
- Advise a wide range of clients including business owners, senior executives, HR teams, in‑house counsel and public/private sector organisations.
- Handle the full breadth of employment matters, including drafting employment documentation, advising on employee relations issues (disciplinary, grievance, performance), and managing Employment Tribunal claims – often involving complex whistleblowing and discrimination matters.
- Support on corporate transactions, including due diligence and TUPE‑related advice.
- Assist in running internal workplace investigations.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships, contributing to the team’s reputation for technical excellence and commercial insight.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across other departments and support business development initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 1–4 PQE in employment law.
- Experience spanning contentious, non‑contentious and transactional employment work.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage your own caseload effectively.
- A clear understanding of client needs and expectations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organisational abilities, with confidence in handling competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset combined with the ability to work autonomously when needed.
- A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work outside standard hours when necessary.
- Commitment to high professional standards and internal best‑practice procedures.
