Employee Relations Specialist, contract role, competitive salary

Your new company
It is a global solutions provider with sites across Northern Ireland and Ireland. They have appointed Hays to recruit an Employee Relations Specialist to join their team. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced operational environments. It is a contract position for approximately 9 months.

Your new role
You will be the central point of contact for all Employee Relations activity across sites in Northern Ireland and Ireland, ensuring consistent, fair, and high-quality Employee Relations support. Your work will directly shape how managers lead and how the culture within the organisation continues to evolve.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing all ER enquiries and cases across multiple manufacturing sites, providing timely, practical, and compliant guidance.
- Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence matters, ensuring best practice and legal compliance.
- Documenting and enhancing ER policies, ensuring they are clear, accessible, and aligned with legislation.
- Building manager toolkits and resources that strengthen capability and support confident, consistent decision-making.
- Capturing and standardising best practices across sites to drive alignment and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with HR and operational leaders to identify trends, mitigate risk, and support a positive employee experience.

What you'll need to succeed
Strong HRBP or Employee Relations experience, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or fast-paced operational environments. Knowledge of employment legislation in Ireland and Northern Ireland. A confident, pragmatic approach to case management and manager coaching. Excellent judgement, communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels. A passion for building structure, clarity, and capability through documentation and tools. The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver with pace.

What you'll get in return

A competitive salary package and the opportunity to join a supportive HR team, partnering closely with leaders who value expertise, clarity, and collaboration.
