Working on a hybrid basis (3 days per week on-site in Cardiff), you will play a vital role in ensuring employee relations matters continue to move forward smoothly during this interim period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of complex employee relations cases, ensuring timely and compliant resolution.
  • Oversee grievances, disciplinary investigations, appeals, and other formal procedures from start to finish.
  • Provide clear, consistent, and pragmatic advice to managers on a wide range of ER matters.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and employment legislation are applied accurately and fairly.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and case summaries in line with organisational and legal requirements.
  • Support in reviewing and updating relevant HR policies where required.
  • Advise on best practice approaches to reduce risk and promote positive working relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to ER challenges.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Extensive experience managing complex grievance, disciplinary, and casework matters.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, and people policies.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Confident in advising senior managers and influencing decision-making processes.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and organisational skills.
  • Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced ER environment.
Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid working model – 3 days in the Cardiff office, 2 days remote.
  • Full-time, immediate start.
  • 4–6 week temporary assignment.

A seasoned ER professional who is:
  • Immediately available
  • Highly competent in handling complex and sensitive cases
  • Comfortable stepping into a time‑pressured environment
  • Able to work independently while building trust quickly
