Employee Relations Case Advisor

We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join an expanding People Team based near Bishop's Stortford on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this key role, you’ll provide expert HR advice and guidance, ensuring policies and processes are applied consistently across the organisation. Acting as a trusted partner to managers, you will lead on employee relations matters, influence people decisions, and support organisational change.

Your new role
  • Provide expert HR advice to managers, ensuring compliance with employment law, company policies, and best practice
  • Lead on employee relations casework, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, and absence management
  • Coach and upskill managers to build confidence in people management and support adoption of the ER Case Management system
  • Analyse workforce data and present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with Trade Unions, supporting consultation and negotiation activity
  • Drive operational excellence in HR processes, improving efficiency and service delivery

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong HR generalist experience with in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Proven experience managing a range of employee relations cases, including complex or high-risk situations
  • The ability to influence and coach senior managers, shaping people-related decisions
  • Experience supporting organisational change (restructures and redundancies; TUPE desirable)
  • A track record of working effectively with Trade Unions
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present clear insights
  • CIPD Level 5 (working towards Level 7 desirable) or equivalent experience
  • A collaborative, resilient approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
