Electrical Technician | £50k-£60k plus benes | Mon-Fri, Day-based | Full-Time, Permanent

Your new company

You will join a disciplined engineering team responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of a major power facility. The site delivers continuous plant performance and requires skilled electrical professionals who can maintain equipment, solve problems and support ongoing reliability and availability targets.

Your new role

You will carry out plant maintenance, fault diagnosis and routine work on electrical systems and auxiliary equipment. You will work to site procedures, maintenance strategies and safety rules. You will support project activity, supervise contractors and use the computerised maintenance management system to plan and record work. The role is day-based with participation in an out‑of‑hours call out rota for essential maintenance.

Key duties include:
  • Performing fault diagnosis and routine maintenance on complex plant and equipment.
  • Meeting maintenance targets safely and commercially.
  • Planning work through the CMMS.
  • Managing and supervising contractors.
  • Delivering maintenance procedures in line with quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Providing technical support and practical solutions to operational issues.
  • Supporting safe systems of work and contributing to the safe operation of the power plant.


What you'll need to succeed

You must bring experience from a power or process based environment and a strong electrical background, including HV and LV systems. You will have knowledge of plant inspection, rotating equipment, fault diagnosis and routine maintenance. You will understand safe systems of work, permits, health, safety and environmental requirements and be comfortable controlling both routine and breakdown maintenance.

  • Clear communication with engineers, contractors and wider teams.
  • Effective workload planning and time management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
  • Attention to detail and a safety first mindset.
  • Competence with computerised maintenance management systems.
Qualifications:
  • HNC/ONC or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • A recognised craft apprenticeship in a related field.


What you'll get in return

The role is a day based role, working Monday to Friday with options for overtime.
