Electrical Maintenance Technician - Days

Your new company

You’ll be joining a major UK operator within the heavy industrial and port‑related sector. The business manages large-scale plant and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient movement and processing of materials. You’ll be part of a dedicated engineering function focused on maintaining high levels of reliability, safety and operational performance.

Your new role

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of plant, machinery and control systems. Working both independently and as part of a team, you’ll ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with site procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing hands‑on maintenance, fault‑finding and repairs on electrical systems and industrial machinery
  • Responding efficiently to unplanned breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Isolating equipment safely and following site permit‑to‑work processes
  • Updating job cards, maintenance logs and reporting any parts or materials required
  • Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to operational planning
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, operations and external contractors
  • Maintaining a strong personal safety culture and promoting safe working practices

What you'll need to succeed

  • NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline plus a completed apprenticeship
  • A HNC or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience maintaining electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment (e.g., manufacturing, processing, ports, mining, aggregates)
  • Strong understanding of control systems and PLCs
  • Excellent electrical fault‑finding ability
  • Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Full UK driving licence

What you'll get in return

You’ll join a supportive engineering team in a highly varied industrial environment, with opportunities to broaden your skills, contribute to site improvements and take on further training. You’ll also benefit from stable long‑term employment, competitive pay, shift enhancements and the chance to progress within a growing organisation.
