Hays are working with a major facilities provider to recruit a Multi‑Skilled Electrical Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a healthcare site in Neath Port Talbot. This is a hands-on role delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a busy hospital environment, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
The Role
As a Multi‑Skilled Electrical Engineer, you will provide a combination of electrical, mechanical, water and building fabric maintenance, specialising in electrical disciplines. You will work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team to ensure the site remains safe, compliant and fully operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and associated plant
- Complete minor installation works and support new plant/equipment installations.
- Ensure all works are completed to specification and within SLA/KPI targets
- Maintain plant rooms, workshops and storage areas to a high standard
- Proactively report defects and asset condition updates
- Support asset management records with accurate condition data
- Identify additional works and provide labour/material estimates when required
- Work safely at all times, adhering to site and statutory regulations.
Working Hours
This role operates on a rotating shift pattern:
- Days: 08:00 – 16:30
- Early: 06:00 – 14:00
- Late: 14:00 – 22:00
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience in building services or facilities maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and compliance
