A leading building services consultancy renowned for its work across high-profile commercial, healthcare, education, and public sector projects is seeking an accomplished and chartered Electrical Director to join their Belfast office. This is a rare opportunity for a senior engineering professional to step into a strategic leadership role with a clear pathway to partnership and equity share in the business.

Your new role

The Electrical Director will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering discipline, driving technical excellence, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in building services who is ready to take on a high-impact leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership across all electrical engineering projects.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company at a senior level.
  • Oversee project performance, resource planning, and budget management.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including bids, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with other discipline leads to ensure integrated, multidisciplinary design solutions.
  • Uphold and enhance company standards, procedures, and quality assurance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in building services, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Amtech, and other relevant design software.
  • Familiarity with BREEAM, BIM, and CIBSE standards.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
  • Legal right to work in the UK
