Environmental Health Officer- ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CONTAMINATED LAND

Duties and responsibilities
• To undertake inspections of premises, business operations, construction sites and permitted processes as required by statute and/or the Authorities' policies and procedures, and in line with legal requirements and other statutory/non-statutory controls to ensure a satisfactory resolution, including any enforcement action necessary.
• To write IPPC reports, risk rate premises.
• To review permits submitted
• To complete permit variations
• Where required, support technical officers in statutory nuisance investigations.

Qualifications and experience
• Must have a Diploma or Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
• Must have knowledge and experience in contaminated land
• Must have knowledge and experience in planning consultations and deliver high-quality responses.
• Must have knowledge and experience of Local Authority air pollution control legislation and standards/guidance.
• Must have knowledge and experience of Statutory nuisance legislation and investigation processes.
• An appreciation and understanding of noise monitoring equipment and monitoring protocols/standards.
• Must have demonstrable experience in environmental protection/ pollution control and statutory nuisance


General Information
• The post holder will be required to comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

• Other activities commensurate with this Job Description may from time to time be undertaken by the post holder.
• The post holder must have a full UK Driving Licence
