Your new role
As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across your specialist subject or key stage, ensuring continuity of learning in the teacher’s absence. Roles will vary depending on your preferences and experience, including:
- Day‑to‑day supply teaching to build confidence and flexibility
- Long‑term placements suitable for completing your ECT induction
- Full‑time or part‑time assignments tailored to your availability
- Opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
This is an ideal pathway for ECTs wanting to gain classroom experience, familiarise themselves with different school settings, and secure potential permanent roles from September.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be completing your ECT year this June
- Some classroom, placement, or school-based teaching experience
- Strong behaviour‑management and communication skills
- A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Confidence in delivering pre‑planned lessons and following school policies
Enthusiastic ECTs looking to begin their teaching career through supply are strongly encouraged to apply.
