Early Years Practitioner at a Bradford Nursery

Early Years Practitioner – Term Time Only
Location: BD4
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term Time (39 weeks per year)
Reports to: Nursery Manager and Directors
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £20,421.22

About the Role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery room. You’ll help create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their early learning goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and act as a positive role model for children and colleagues.
  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and Ofsted standards.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor engaging early years learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Support children with additional needs/SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and liaise with relevant agencies.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with parents, carers, and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate records, contribute to assessments, and attend regular supervisions.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or Level 2 working towards Level 3).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children aged 2–4.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, child development, and safeguarding practices.
  • GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • A warm, approachable, and professional manner.

    Desirable:
  • ICT qualification and basic computer literacy.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND. •
  • Willingness to attend training and work flexibly when required.
