Your new company

You’ll be joining a well-established, safety-critical industrial operation based in Ellesmere Port. The site operates complex electrical and instrumentation systems and places strong emphasis on compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement, supported by an experienced engineering and maintenance function.

Your new role

As a Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation), you will be part of a multi-skilled maintenance team responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your work will directly support plant reliability, uptime, and production performance.
You will carry out both preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation assets across the production units, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations. The role also involves supporting plant modifications, shutdowns, and improvement projects as required.
The position is day-based, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with additional support required during shutdowns and outages. You will also participate in an EI on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support for critical breakdowns when required.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Inspecting and executing planned and preventative maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Managing reactive and planned work through the CMMS, ensuring jobs are completed and closed out effectively
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and site safety rules
  • Preparing isolations and RAMS in line with the Permit to Work system
  • Supporting and deputising for the Maintenance Team Leader when required
  • Participating in the electrical/instrument on-call rota and responding to breakdowns
  • Supporting EI scopes for capital projects, improvements, and shutdowns
  • Following correct site processes including management of change and critical spares management
