Are you a practical, hands-on individual with a passion for supporting Design & Technology education? A welcoming secondary school in Castleford is seeking a dedicated DT Technician to join their team on a long-term basis, with the exciting possibility of transitioning into a permanent role for the right candidate.
️ Role Overview:
As a DT Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the DT department, ensuring workshops are well-equipped, safe, and ready for engaging practical lessons. You’ll assist staff and students with materials, tools, and machinery, helping to bring creative projects to life.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons
- Maintain tools, machinery, and workshop safety standards
- Support students during practical sessions
- Order and manage stock and resources
- Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance learning experiences
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a school DT department or similar workshop environment
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Organised, reliable, and proactive
- DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
