They provide support, treatment, and education for substance misusers to improve their physical, social, and emotional well–being. This is done by providing an individualised response that meets each person’s needs whilst maintaining respect and dignity within a safe environment.
Your new role:
Your new role:
You will be working closely with individuals who use drugs and/or alcohol. The role will consist of helping them to access treatment systems. This will involve consulting with their families, friends and carers in both community and criminal justice settings. In addition, you will raise awareness of substance misuse and related issues in communities. You will be completing activities to promote and build self-esteem. Typical shifts will be 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

You will need the ability to form professional relationships with people who need support in the treatment of drug and alcohol misuse. Ideally, you will have experience delivering interventions to substance misusers and assisting with therapeutic interventions, but this is not essential, as training will be provided. You will need strong time management skills and to be able to communicate effectively in a range of situations. Driving is essential for this role.
