Drama Teacher Job – SEND School
Location: Stockport
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

About the role:
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join a dedicated team at a specialist SEND school in Stockport. The school supports children and young people aged 11–16 with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and therapeutic curriculum that promotes self-expression, communication, and confidence. You will be responsible for planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners, many of whom thrive through creative and experiential learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality drama lessons tailored to students with SEND
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
  • Use drama as a tool for emotional regulation, social development, and communication
  • Collaborate with the wider staff team, including therapists and support staff
  • Contribute to whole-school events, performances, and enrichment activities
What we're looking for:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly SEMH or ASC, is highly desirable
  • A creative, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and the performing arts
