Document Controller/Administrator – Permanent – Birmingham – Established Contractor – Civil Engineering

Your new company

You will be joining an industry-leading civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. With a commitment to excellence, safety, and innovation, they are proud to be shaping the future of construction. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated Document Controller/Administrator to join their dynamic team on a major civil engineering project in the Midlands.

Your new role

Based full-time in their Birmingham office, you will play a pivotal role in managing project documentation and supporting the wider project team. This is a fast-paced and rewarding environment where your organisational skills and attention to detail will be highly valued.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and updating document management systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Controlling the distribution of drawings, specifications and reports
  • Logging and archiving document revisions in line with QA procedures
  • Providing general administrative support including filing, data entry and meeting coordination
  • Acting as a key point of contact for document-related queries across internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in document control or administration, ideally within civil engineering.
  • Proficiency in document management systems such as Aconex, Viewpoint, Asite or 4Projects
  • Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is desirable
  • A full UK driving licence.
