Director of Procurement | £Negotiable | Yorkshire | Permanent position

Your new role
Are you a hands-on procurement leader ready to shake things up and make a real impact? Do you thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where autonomy, innovation, and transformation are not just buzzwords—but expectations?

We’re partnering with a forward-thinking, rapidly growing organisation based in Yorkshire to find a Director of Procurement who’s ready to lead from the front, challenge the status quo, and deliver real, measurable change.
With a large and complex supplier base and limited formalised procurement processes in place, the function is ripe for transformation. This is your blank canvas.
You’ll be given full autonomy to:

  • Redesign & develop procurement strategies, processes and policies
  • Drive aggressive cost savings & SRM strategies
  • Implement automation and AI-led efficiencies
  • Lead, upskill, and develop an existing team
  • Create future leaders and succession plans

This is not a role for a strategist alone. You will be required to lead from the front and deliver transformation across multiple business areas, ideally in PE-backed or pre-exit environments.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Conduct a full review of current spend, contracts, and supplier relationships
  • Build and implement robust procurement processes and governance
  • Lead contract renegotiations—particularly in high-impact spend areas
  • Introduce automation and AI to streamline manual processes
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing procurement team

What you'll need to succeed
  • Drive & Determination – You will be in a similar role or a procurement leadership / head of role ready for their next step up.
  • Proven experience in high-growth, fast-paced, or PE-backed businesses
  • Experience in delivering cost savings, automation improvements and team performance would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong track record of cost savings, process transformation, and team development
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the opportunity to build from scratch
  • Industry background is flexible, but experience in construction is a plus.
  • A cultural fit—someone who can drive change without disrupting the positive culture

What you'll get in return
  • A competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • Outstanding benefits package
  • Hybrid working with flexibility
  • A chance to shape the future of a business on the rise
  • A platform to deliver, grow, and move on—internally or externally—with a legacy of success
