Director of Credit Risk Management (Shipping & Equipment Recovery)

A leading global asset leasing company is seeking a seasoned Director of Credit Management to lead its international credit operations. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on credit risk strategy, collections, and equipment recovery across a diverse global customer base. This opportunity is with a market-leading global leasing company that specialises in equipment solutions. With operations in over 40 countries and a fleet of millions of units, the company plays a critical role in supporting international trade and supply chain resilience.

Industry: Leasing / Asset Finance / Global Logistics.


Your new role

  • Lead and mentor a global team of credit analysts.
  • Oversee credit policies, customer onboarding, and risk assessment processes.
  • Drive automation and portfolio analysis enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to structure low-risk commercial transactions.
  • Take ownership of equipment recovery efforts for delinquent accounts, working closely with legal and operations teams.
  • Provide strategic insights and updates to senior leadership on credit developments.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 8+ years in credit analysis or credit risk management, ideally within banking (maritime & shipping), leasing, lending, or asset finance.
  • Proven track record in equipment recovery and asset repossession.
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of international business practices and legal frameworks.
  • Advanced Excel and database skills.
  • UK work authorisation required.
