Your new role

As Despatch Manager, you will take full responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the despatch department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers. You will lead a team of supervisors and operatives, driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will manage all despatch operations from storage to delivery, ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and audit standards at all times. The role involves maintaining accurate documentation and stock control, overseeing training and performance reviews, and promoting a harmonious working environment. You will also be responsible for driving housekeeping standards, ensuring equipment is well maintained, and supporting site-wide projects and system improvements.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will have proven experience in despatch within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office, along with Level 3 accreditation in Health & Safety and Food Safety. Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to drive performance and foster a collaborative culture. Desirable skills include experience in lean manufacturing, auditor training, and holding MHE licences.
