Are you a creative and innovative educator with a passion for design, engineering, and problem-solving? Do you inspire students to think critically, work practically, and develop real-world skills? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic
Design and Technology Teacher to join our forward-thinking department. You will teach across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering engaging lessons in areas such as product design, resistant materials, systems and control, and/or textiles, depending on your specialism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, practical and theory-based lessons in Design and Technology.
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and technical skills in students of all abilities.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and STEM initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:
  • A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
  • Experience teaching KS3–KS5 (including A-Level).
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAM and other relevant technologies.
  • A commitment to inclusive, hands-on, and student-centred teaching.

Desirable Characteristics of an Experienced Teacher:
  • A track record of delivering outstanding student outcomes in D&T.
  • Experience leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Confidence in managing workshop tools, machinery, and health & safety protocols.
  • Ability to inspire students through real-world design challenges and competitions.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and innovation in design education.
  • A collaborative approach to working within a creative team.
