Non-Teaching Deputy Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator

An SEN school in Birmingham is looking for a Deputy SENCO to carry out long-term cover during this academic year.

The school has a large SEND Team that supports children and teachers across two sites, one north of the city centre and one to the east.

Please find more details below:

  • Working in a team of five staff members, reporting to one of the school’s strategic SENCOS
  • Working with children primarily within KS3 and KS4 in a non-teaching position
  • The role is on temporary time sheet basis, and the working day is 8:30am – 3:30pm each school day
  • The school would consider someone who would like to work 3 days a week or full-time they have that flexibility
  • You would be working with pupils with ECHPs for SEMH needs and other SEN
  • You will be supporting the SEND department by ensuring that all pupil information is updated regularly and correctly on the school systems in relation to EHCPs
  • You will also be working with teaching staff across the school to ensure that SEND data is updated, and the relevant adaptations are being followed through within the classroom for each pupil
  • The role will run through to Easter in the first instance and probably through till the end of the academic year
