Salary: £35,500 + fixed‑term
Benefits: 28 days holiday, Blue Light Card, company phone & laptop
Start date: June (to cover maternity leave)

A warm and welcoming 28‑bed care home is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a key leadership role supporting the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care and full compliance with CQC standards. We’re looking for someone confident, proactive, and ready to bring stability, strong leadership, and a positive presence to both staff and residents.
If you’re passionate about delivering excellent care and supporting the development of others, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the home and act as Manager in their absence.
Maintain compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and CQC regulations.
Lead, motivate, and supervise staff, ensuring regular supervisions, appraisals, and ongoing development.
Promote a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and person‑centred practice.
Oversee staffing levels, rota planning, and effective resource allocation.
Ensure the home meets regulatory, legislative, and organisational standards.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and statutory documentation.
Support the Registered Manager in achieving the highest possible CQC ratings.
Champion person‑centred care and ensure residents’ needs, wishes, and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
Ensure care plans are accurate, up to date, and followed by all staff.
Create a positive, homely, and safe environment.
Oversee health and safety requirements, including incident reporting and statutory checks.
Contribute to business and operational planning, risk assessment, and service improvement.

What we are looking for
Experience in a senior role within a care home (Team leader, Deputy manager or Registered Manager).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and support a team.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
A proactive, solution‑focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
A genuine passion for delivering high‑quality care.
While an NVQ Level 3 or 5 is desirable, it is not mandatory. What matters most is solid hands‑on experience in care and a real passion for supporting residents.

What We Offer
Competitive salary
28 days annual leave
Blue Light Card
Company phone and laptop
Supportive leadership team and a meaningful role where you can make a real impact

**Please note we do not offer sponsorships**
