We're looking for a forward-thinking Data Engineer to join our Group Operations Data Transformation Team, supporting and enhancing our Microsoft Fabric platform while driving data quality, governance and transformation across the business.
Role Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory and Python
• Manage the ingestion of raw data from multiple sources including CAFM, Finance Systems, Salesforce, IoT and HR systems into the Data Lakehouse
• Implement automated SQL and Python processes to identify, monitor and resolve data quality issues at source
• Maintain Data Governance standards including data dictionaries, lineage and schematics, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness
• Collaborate with Analysts, BI Developers, Information Systems and architecture teams to deliver scalable, future-proofed data solutions and optimise system performance
Required Qualifications: applicants must meet the below-defined requirements for the role.
• Expert-level SQL skills combined with strong Python experience, including data manipulation using Pandas and PySpark
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Stack technologies including Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Data Lake
• Proven experience delivering ETL/ELT projects, data modelling and implementing Data Governance controls
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Data Engineering role
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical issues in a business-focused way
