Interim job opportunity for Data Analyst in Milton Keynes.

Your new company

Join a forward‑looking organisation undertaking a major finance transformation programme as it migrates from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA. You’ll become part of a collaborative change‑driven environment where modernising finance data, processes, and reporting is central to delivering long‑term operational excellence. Guided by expert Data Architects, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the transition is accurate, dependable, and aligned to future business needs.

Your new role

As a Data Analyst (SAP Migration), you’ll be at the heart of the organisation’s move to S/4HANA. Working under the direction of the Data Architects, you’ll support detailed analysis, mapping, reconciliation, and validation to ensure financial data and reporting remain correct and trustworthy throughout the migration lifecycle. You’ll investigate current-state processes, map R/3 structures to S/4, reconcile large datasets, and validate reports and postings to ensure a smooth, controlled transition.
Key aspects of the role include:

Analysing current SAP R/3 and CMS data flows, reporting logic, and cross‑system dependencies.
Reviewing S/4HANA designs and highlighting any gaps, risks, or areas needing clarification.
Performing detailed data mapping using frameworks set by the Data Architects.
Conducting data reconciliations between R/3 and S/4, producing clear summaries of variances.
Building a catalogue of finance and MI reports, assessing redesign or retirement needs.
Supporting testing by preparing expected outcomes and validating results.
Producing structured documentation—mapping packs, data dictionaries, impact assessments, and reconciliation artefacts.
Working collaboratively across Finance, Reporting/MI, IBM, and IT teams to resolve issues.
Supporting cutover activities and carrying out post‑go‑live validation and issue resolution.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong analytical skills with hands‑on experience in data reconciliation.

  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to problem‑solving.

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and analyse SAP finance data.

  • Confidence working with large datasets and tracing data flows across systems.

  • Clear documentation skills with the ability to produce structured, traceable outputs.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain findings to business and technical stakeholders.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach with the willingness to chase down missing information and escalate risks when required.

What you'll get in return

This is a 6 month interim opportunity paying up to £315 per day. It is hybrid, and you will need to be on site 2 days per week.
