This is a fantastic opportunity for a data analyst to join Hays' brilliant client based in their Glasgow office.

This role is a hybrid role and requires candidates to be able to come to the office twice per week .

This role offers up to £40,000 per annum and has added benefits, with a great opportunity to learn new skills as an analyst and one day transition to an engineering role, if desired.

Your new role

You will be responsible for importing and maintaining master product data, including pricing and technical information, so that their clients have all of the information they need to make buying decisions. You will audit and optimise large data sets to improve business functions, from improving the clients' search experience on our platform, to ensuring that our internal reports are based on sound and complete information. Excelling at Excel, you will perform complex pricing analysis to calculate and communicate the impact of pricing changes. You will proactively identify, understand and communicate consequences of data quality issues, and implement measures to ensure continuous improvement. You will engage in their ETL project, helping create and maintain data pipelines, and supporting the automation and efficiency of our processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 2+ years experience in a data analysis or equivalent role

  • Excellent analytical skills and an expert user of Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail, including when working under pressure

  • Strong communication skills, with experience in translating complex data sets to present simply and succinctly

  • Experience in working collaboratively with other stakeholders to define data or reporting requirements, and to understand outputs

  • Competent in the use of SQL to retrieve data and build custom reports

  • Experience of ETL and Python would be an advantage, but is not essential

What you'll get in return

Offering up to £40,000 per annum at an established private sector client, this is a fantastic opportunity for junior analysts looking for a change in their career. They are undergoing a Power BI implementation from scratch, which will offer fantastic first-hand experience in this area.
