Damp and Mould Building Surveyor Opportunity

Location: Oxford
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract (6 months)
Department: Property Services / Housing Maintenance

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Damp and Mould Building Surveyor to join our property services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting residential properties, diagnosing issues related to dampness, mould, and condensation, and recommending effective remedial solutions. This plays a critical part in improving housing conditions and ensuring the health and safety of occupants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify causes of damp, mould, and condensation.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports including photographic evidence, moisture readings, and recommendations.
  • Advise tenants and property managers on preventative measures and maintenance best practices.
  • Specify and oversee remedial works, liaising with contractors and ensuring quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, actions taken, and follow-up visits.
  • Collaborate with housing officers, environmental health teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to complaints and emergency cases promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and housing standards.

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • HNC in Surveying or Construction
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and managing damp and mould issues.
  • Knowledge of building pathology, ventilation systems, and moisture control.
  • Familiarity with housing legislation and landlord responsibilities.
  • Experience working in social housing or residential property management is desirable.
