Customer Service Officer, immediate start, 6-month fixed term contract, Wakefield

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced customer service officer/administrator to work in the Customer Services team, for a well-known Housing Association in Wakefield. This role will be a temporary-fixed-term contract position initially until March 2025.

Your new role

As a Customer Services Officer, you will be the first point of contact for tenants, providing exceptional customer service and addressing a range of housing-related queries. You will play a key role in ensuring that customers receive timely and effective support while handling all interactions in a professional and empathetic manner. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the positive impact they make in the communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as point of contact for all enquiries and providing quality advice and assistance
  • Maintain records of customer interactions and follow up on enquiries to ensure timely resolution
  • Liaise with internal departments such as repairs, housing management and finance to resolve customer queries
  • Provide Administrative support for Tenant onboarding, ensuring all documents and procedures are completed
  • Support residents with any tenancy related issues, including rent arrears, complaints or changes in personal circumstances

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a customer service or similar role, ideally within housing, social services, or the public sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple queries and follow up effectively.
  • Proficiency in using customer management systems and general IT tools.
