Your new role

As a customer care and wellbeing advisor, you’ll be a vital part of a dedicated team offering emotional support and safeguarding guidance to individuals experiencing crisis or mental health challenges. Working within a contact centre environment, you’ll respond to a range of calls, including mental health helpline contacts and emergency alerts, ensuring timely and empathetic assistance, sign posting and escalations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing emotional support and practical guidance to callers in distress
  • Responding to assistive technology alarms and mental health helpline calls
  • Signposting to appropriate services and escalating safeguarding concerns
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service improvements
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
  • Supporting out-of-hours services and business continuity operations
Shift patterns (rota-based):

  • Early: 6:00am – 3:15pm
  • Late: 1:15pm – 10:30pm
  • Night: 9:00pm – 6:00am
Flexible options available: Full-time or part-time (2 or 3 days per week), with coverage across all shift types.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in crisis helplines, mental health support, or similar roles
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask effectively
  • Strong IT skills and attention to detail
  • MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) qualification – or willingness to train
  • Understanding of diverse backgrounds and a commitment to inclusive support
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to challenge the status quo for better outcomes
