A Customer Advisor is required within a local utility organisation.

Your new company

A well-established utility organisation is seeking a Customer Advisor to join their dynamic Customer Services team. This company is known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and community service, and offers a supportive environment where employees are empowered to grow and succeed.

Your new role

As a Customer Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service across a range of operational and administrative tasks. You’ll be responsible for managing customer enquiries, planning asset maintenance jobs and new connections, and ensuring accurate data input across internal systems. You’ll also handle inbound and outbound calls, including gas emergencies, and liaise with construction partners and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning and scheduling new and maintenance jobs
  • Handling customer enquiries and complaints via phone and email
  • Responding to customer emergencies and recording incident details accurately
  • Updating internal systems with connection, metering, and service data
  • Performing general administrative duties and supporting service delivery
  • Promoting health & safety, customer care, and company values

What you'll need to succeed

Essential Criteria:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (Grade C or above)
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a customer service role with high-volume calls
  • Minimum 2 years’ administrative experience
  • Strong IT skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in planning/scheduling departments
  • Diary management and complaint handling experience
  • High-volume data entry experience
