The business has a strong national presence and is known for its commitment to exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. You’ll be part of a supportive finance function where accuracy, teamwork, and commercial awareness are highly valued.

Your new role

As a Credit Controller, you will take ownership of a varied debtor ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the end‑to‑end credit control process for a portfolio of accounts.
  • Chasing overdue payments via phone and email in a professional, customer‑focused manner.
  • Allocating payments and reconciling customer accounts.
  • Investigating and resolving queries promptly to prevent delays in payment.
  • Reviewing credit limits and assessing customer creditworthiness.
  • Producing aged debt reports and supporting month‑end processes.
  • Working closely with the wider finance team and operational departments to minimise risk and improve cashflow.
This is a hands‑on, proactive role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and making a measurable impact on debtor performance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and manage conversations confidently.
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Experience using finance systems and Excel (pivot tables, lookups are advantageous).
  • A proactive approach to resolving queries and improving processes.
  • A positive, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to support colleagues when needed.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for progression.
  • A supportive working culture that values people, development, and collaboration.
  • On‑site benefits include parking and access to company facilities.
  • Training and ongoing development within a growing finance team.
  • The opportunity to make a direct impact on cashflow and financial performance within a recognised national brand.
