Part‑Time Teacher of Drama (3 Days per Week)
Location: Hove, East Sussex
Contract: Temporary, 3 days per week
Start: As soon as possible
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Your new role
An 11–16 secondary school in Hove is seeking a passionate and creative Teacher of Drama to join their team on a part‑time basis (3 days per week). This role has the potential to continue until the end of the academic year, although this is not confirmed at this stage.
You will deliver engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop confidence, creativity and performance skills. The timetable will be agreed to suit the school’s needs and the successful candidate’s availability.
The Drama Department & Curriculum
The Drama department is a valued part of the school’s wider performing arts provision, offering students opportunities to explore performance, devising, script work and theatre techniques within a supportive environment. Drama is taught as part of a broad and balanced curriculum, encouraging creativity, collaboration and self‑expression, with opportunities for students to build practical performance skills as well as critical thinking and evaluative skills.
At Key Stage 4, students are supported through an engaging GCSE curriculum that promotes both practical and theoretical understanding of Drama and theatre, preparing them for examination success and wider creative pathways.
What you’ll need to succeed
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
Ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners
Strong classroom management and behaviour‑for‑learning skills
Flexibility and a positive, professional approach
