Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. This is a great opportunity to build strong relationships with schools and gain valuable experience—especially for ECTs looking to broaden their classroom exposure.
- Supervising lessons across a range of subjects using provided resources.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.
- Ensuring a calm, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.
- Have previous experience working in a secondary school classroom—either as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or Teacher.
- Are Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain experience and build confidence before securing a permanent role.
- Are confident, adaptable, and able to manage behaviour effectively.
- Can build rapport quickly and maintain a professional classroom presence.
