Your new company

A leading educational institution in Northern Ireland is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Communications Manager on a 12-month FTC basis to join their Marketing & Communications team. Based in Ballymena, this organisation plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of education and skills development across the region.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you will lead the development and delivery of a strategic internal communications programme, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. You will be responsible for producing high-quality corporate publications, including the Annual Report, and managing communications to both internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and implementing an annual Internal Communications Programme (ICP), with mechanisms to evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Preparing briefing papers and corporate responses to Ministerial, Assembly, and Department for the Economy (DfE) queries.
  • Editorial oversight of newsletters, web content, and other corporate literature.
  • Developing protocols for authorised statements and drafting speeches for senior leadership.
  • Collaborating with senior colleagues to ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging.
  • Monitoring policy-related publications and advising senior staff on implications and actions.
  • Partnering with HR and the Senior Leadership Team to drive employee engagement initiatives.
  • Leading cross-college communications projects as required.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a confident communicator with a proven track record in corporate communications, ideally within the public or education sector. You’ll have strong editorial skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Experience in speechwriting, policy alignment, and internal engagement strategies will be key to your success.

What you'll get in return

  • Hourly rate £24.35 per hour (£45,718)

  • Hybrid working

  • Based in Ballymena, Coleraine, Magherafelt or Newtownabbey.

  • This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a respected institution. You’ll enjoy a collaborative working environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to shape the internal communications strategy at a senior level.
