Job Opportunity: Continuous Improvement Lead – Children’s Services
Location:Oxfordshire (Hybrid Work Pattern)
Contract:Initial 6-Month Contract

Are you passionate about driving service excellence and improving outcomes for children and families? We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking local authority for a
Continuous Improvement Lead to join their Children, Education & Families (CEF) directorate. This is a pivotal role within the Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, Improvement and Partnerships division, where you’ll lead initiatives that embed learning from quality assurance into practice across Children’s Social Care, Education, and Youth Justice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Service Manager for Inspection Readiness and the Principal Social Worker to ensure the effectiveness of the quality assurance framework.
  • Analyse learning from QA activities to identify development needs and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Design and implement practice improvement initiatives in partnership with service managers, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Lead and evaluate workshops across services, providing qualitative feedback and impact analysis.
  • Develop and deliver action plans that embed learning into practice with measurable outcomes.
  • Champion co-production, ensuring children’s and families’ voices shape service improvements.
  • Share learning across the directorate to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

âś… Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in children’s services, particularly in quality assurance or service improvement.
  • Strong understanding of inspection frameworks (DfE, Ofsted).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with relationship-based practice, systemic approaches, and family safeguarding models.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
