Your new company
My client is a leading consultancy specialising in ecological planning solutions, offering an extensive range of expertise to numerous and diverse high-profile clients within both the public and private sectors. They also have regular interaction with their partner companies specialising in landscape consultancy and ecological mitigation implementation / habitat creation. As they continue to grow, they are seeking talented Ecologists to join their Worcestershire and Hertfordshire offices.

Your new role
Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior members of staff with day-to-day project management, including managing your own projects in line with your experience.
  • Undertake field surveys using UKHab assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain condition assessments, and protected species surveys.
  • Support seasonal field surveyors by preparing site plans, risk assessments, and conducting ECoW.
  • Keep up to date with appropriate guidance and environmental legislation, including planning processes and/ or Ecological Impact Assessments(EIA) / Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA).
  • Assist with the production of a range of reports including BNG reports, Ecological Assessments, briefing notes, habitat management plans, and ES Chapters.
  • Management and/or supervision of a team if at a senior level.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field.
  • Experience conducting wildlife surveys and botanical identification.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident in Excel and other Microsoft packages.
  • Previous use of Kaleidoscope, QGIS, CorelDRAW, or similar software packages.
  • Full driving licence, with access to a vehicle, due to the remote location of the offices and sites.
