Your new role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Operative to join a busy construction team based in Castledawson. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of site-based duties, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role is suitable for candidates with previous construction or labouring experience who are comfortable working outdoors and contributing to the successful delivery of construction projects.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in civil engineering, groundwork, or general construction projects.
- Plant tickets (e.g., Dumper, Roller, Telehandler) would be advantageous.
- Manual Handling, Working at Height, or First Aid certification.
- Experience using a range of hand and power tools.

Working Hours
- Typically Monday to Friday.
- Overtime may be available depending on project requirements.

Candidate Summary
The ideal candidate will hold a valid CSR Card, have previous experience in a construction environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety. They will be dependable, physically fit, and capable of supporting site operations across a range of construction activities in the Castledawson area.What you'll need to succeed
Key Responsibilities- Assist tradespeople and site management with day-to-day construction activities.
- Carry out general labouring duties including site preparation, material handling, and site clearance.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials around site.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site cleanliness.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
- Assist with groundwork, concrete works, fencing, drainage, or other construction tasks as required.
- Report any health and safety concerns to site management.
- Work collaboratively as part of a site team to meet project deadlines.
- Valid CSR (Construction Skills Register) Card.
- Previous experience working on construction sites.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).
