Construction Buyer / Assistant - Doncaster. Up to £40,000 + Benefits

Construction Buyer / Assistant job in Doncaster for a well-known housebuilder / developer.

Your new role
As the buyer, you will sit within a team of 5 working closely with the commercial and construction teams and reporting to a senior manager. The main function will be to ensure the company obtains quality materials and equipment hire for competitive prices in a timely fashion. You will analyse the current processes and suppliers and ensure materials are scheduled with the right lead in times with the most competitive suppliers with the relevant approvals. You will also seek alternative products where applicable. You will be the sole buyer for the construction team and have autonomy to shape the role to suit.

What you'll need to succeed.
The ideal candidate will be studying or recently qualified with a construction-related degree at a UK college or university, and demonstrate strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Flexibility and adaptability are important, as the role requires frequent travel and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Additionally, strong problem-solving skills are necessary to identify and resolve issues promptly to keep projects on track.
