Construction Account Handler – independent Lloyd’s Broker – up to £40,000

Your new company

Your new job working as a Construction Account Handler will be working within one of the UK’s leading independent Lloyd’s brokers. Located in the city and throughout the UK, these brokers make it a priority to understand every detail of client’s businesses and work in partnerships to provide a complete service to their customers. The company offers unbiased access to the market and place cover with an established insurer network. They are a national business operating out of regional offices across the UK, acting internationally with global specialists. They offer innovative and intelligent risk advice and insurance programmes designed to confidently provide clients a service to protect their risks. Due to a maternity leave within their Real Estate and Construction team, a 12-month contract role has arisen for a Construction Account Handler to work as a part of an established team.


Your new role

Your new role as a Construction account handler will be working for an expanding team in the City of London where your main role will be to support client executives in administrating renewals and midterm adjustments as well as new business enquiries. Some of your key responsibilities include promoting and supporting the branch both internally and externally to clients, the insurance market and other third parties. The role will include dealing with new and renewal business as well as actively cross-selling. Other duties will include the preparation of presentations to the market and clients and maintaining good relations with partner insurers negotiating terms, rates and brokerage whilst building relationships with clients by managing day to day handling of your account.

What you'll need to succeed

Your previous experience working as an Account Handler handling UK Construction, Commercial Combined or Real Estate business will contribute to your success in securing this role. Also, you will have confident and effective telephone and PC skills, including Microsoft Office and, ideally, Acturis (although this is not essential), have the ability to develop and sustain relationships with both clients and colleagues and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
