Communications Officer role in Greater Belfast, drive impactful public sector campaigns and creative content.

A public sector organisation that provides high quality emergency, urgent and primary care services throughout the whole of Northern Ireland. Based in a busy communications department, this organisation is committed to engaging with the public, stakeholders, and internal teams through impactful and creative communications.

Your new role

As Communications Officer, you’ll be part of a small, dynamic team responsible for delivering high-quality communications and engagement activity. You’ll manage day-to-day coordination of social media channels, produce video and photography content, and support the development of digital platforms including the website and intranet.

You’ll contribute to internal and external campaigns, write and edit content, and support media handling processes. You’ll also play a key role in supporting community education initiatives and ensuring consistent messaging aligned with organisational values.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree-level qualification

  • Experience creating digital content

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop) and Wordpress

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

  • Film/video production and creative photography skills

  • A full driving licence and access to transport

Desirable experience includes:

  • Communications, media, or PR background

  • Understanding of the public sector or healthcare landscape

  • Campaign and event management experience

  • Media handling and crisis communications
