Commissioning Engineer | £Negotiable | East Yorkshire | 3-4 Months Contract

Your new role

  • Implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for the project.
  • Oversee completion sign-off, cold and hot commissioning activities, and testing through to handover.
  • Conduct system testing, verification, and validation on electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Verify installations against design drawings, specifications, P&IDs, schematics, and other documentation.
  • Maintain and complete commissioning documentation, including test procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), reports, logs, as-built drawings, handover packs, and test result records.
  • Identify and record any non-conformance or safety issues.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, engineers, vendors, and the client.
  • Provide training or technical support to operations or maintenance staff post-handover if required.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in commissioning roles within power generation or similar industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with commissioning documentation and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
