Commissioning Engineer – Water

Your new company

Our client, a Tier 1 contractor operating in the water industry, is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team in Derbyshire on a 6-month rolling contract.

Your new role

You will be working on a sewage treatment works project with scope of work including, but not limited to:

  • Executing commissioning plans and procedures for various mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems within the water treatment facility.

  • Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and testing of equipment and systems.

  • Perform functional testing and performance verification of all MEICA systems, including pumps, valves, filters, control panels, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during commissioning.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning records and documentation.

  • Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and subcontractors during commissioning activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commissioning water treatment plants or similar infrastructure projects.

  • A strong understanding of MEICA systems and their integration within water treatment facilities.

  • Experience with commissioning testing procedures and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
