A respected and growing insurance organisation is seeking an Existing Business Underwriter to join their dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse book of commercial business, focusing on renewals, retention, and broker relationships.

Your new role

As an Existing Business Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing and retaining existing commercial insurance accounts. You’ll work closely with brokers and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of renewals and mid-term adjustments, while maintaining high service standards. Your key responsibilities will include underwriting renewals across all products, processing mid-term adjustments within 48 hours and managing and following up on renewals over £5,000. You will act as a referral point for underwriting assistants and collaborate with the team to meet SLAs and maintain broker relationships. You will be operating within your underlying licence and referring to senior colleagues when needed, along with contributing to process improvements and supporting wider business goals.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role, you will need a minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial underwriting (property/casualty). You will need strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with excellent organisation and team-working abilities and a self-motivated and proactive approach.
