A leading insurance organisation with a strong presence in the commercial property and casualty market is seeking a Trading Underwriter to join their dynamic New Business team. Your new role

As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting new business across a range of commercial insurance products. You’ll play a key role in maintaining broker relationships, supporting junior underwriters, and ensuring service excellence within agreed SLAs. Some key responsibilities will include underwriting new business quotations within underwriting appetite, maintaining strong broker relationships through regular communication and acting as a referral point for junior team members. You must ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles along with collaborating with the wider team to meet service standards and business goals.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years experience in commercial underwriting (property/casualty), strong communication and relationship-building skills and be organised, self-motivated and team-orientated. You should be an individual that has the ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively, and it is desirable that you have or are working towards a Cert CII or ACII qualification.
