Commercial Plumber - Maintenance work in healthcare

Commercial Plumber (Mechanical Engineer) – Milton Keynes / Bedford
Salary: £38,000 – £44,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Mobile role covering Milton Keynes and Bedford

About the Role

We’re seeking a qualified Commercial Plumber to join the NHS DVS team, supporting healthcare facilities across Milton Keynes and Bedford. You’ll work on a mobile basis, maintaining and repairing systems in community hospitals, health centres, and administrative buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and
  • Reactive repairs (40% PPM / 60% reactive)
  • Collaborate with a team of electricians, gas engineers, and HVAC specialists
  • Participate in a 1-in-6 or 1-in-7 call-out rota
    • Standby pay: £175
    • Call-out window: Friday evening to Monday morning
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
  • Completed trade apprenticeship route
  • Experience in commercial plumbing and building services engineering
  • Current DBS certificate (within the last few months preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence

Interview Process
  • Initial Team interview
    (15–20 minutes) with Direct Line and Hard FM Manager (Keith)
