Commercial Paralegal | Sleaford | £26-33,000

At some point early in a legal career, you stop thinking about theory and start seeing how things work in practice. Contracts move deals forward. NDAs protect ideas. Small details carry real weight. This role gives you that exposure.

A growing business in Sleaford is hiring a Commercial Paralegal. It is a new position, created because there is more work flowing through the business and a need for someone to come in and take ownership of the detail. It is designed for someone early in their career who wants to move into an in-house environment and build practical, commercial experience.

You will support the day-to-day handling of contracts and non-disclosure agreements. That includes preparing documents, working from existing templates, and keeping records organised and up to date. You will start to see how agreements are put together, what good looks like, and why certain clauses matter. As your confidence grows, you will take on more responsibility. You will spot issues earlier, start to question things, and build a clear understanding of how legal decisions support commercial activity rather than slow it down.

The work will not stay basic for long if you are someone who picks things up quickly. You will not be working in isolation. This role sits close to the commercial side of the business. You will be dealing with people in different teams, often with no legal background, so you need to keep things clear, practical, and easy to understand. It is a role where being organised and reliable makes a real difference. If you keep things tight, everything runs smoother around you.

This role suits someone at the start of their legal career who wants to specialise. You must be within a reasonable commute of Sleaford and hold a law degree. You might already be in your first legal role and starting to think about your next move, or you may be finishing university and actively looking for something more commercial than a traditional pathway.

Some exposure to contracts or NDAs will help, even at a basic level. It shows you understand the space and want to build on it.

What matters more is how you work. You take care of detail, stay organised, and follow through. You do not let things drift.

You are comfortable asking questions when you do not know something and you improve quickly when shown a better way.

The role is part-time and permanent. Working patterns will be agreed in advance, with the expectation of around 30 hours per week, and there is scope for the role to become full time as the position grows.

Salary is expected to sit between £26,000 and £33,000 full-time equivalent, depending on experience.
